Do you want help with any of the following?
  • Deck construction
    • Missions
    • Raids
    • Quests
    • Faction wars, attack, surge, defense
    • Standard Tournaments
    • Arena
    • Sealed tournaments (theory and evaluation only, I won't make a deck for you for a live tournament)
    • Conquest wars
  • Advice about how to play a particular type of deck (we can trade videos of games and discuss them)
  • Me joining your faction and fighting faction wars
  • Me joining your faction and fighting conquest wars
  • Building better tools for your personal use
  • Building better tools for your faction
  • Advice about the order to complete missions, side missions, and raids
  • Advice about buying cards and packs
  • Anything else related to the game
If so, then consider talking to me about your needs.

Who am I? What are my qualifications?

Some people think it is significant that I was the first professional player of Magic: The Gathering and that I was the 1996 North American Type I National Champion, among other titles and accolades.

I started playing Tyrant a couple of weeks after it was launched. I joined a low-level faction and we clawed our way up to #5 before we were "ganked". Before Infamy points, a group of factions could usually destroy one faction with non-stop attacks ("ganking"). Our leader disbanded our faction, and I quit playing for about eight months. Since I have been back, I designed a lot of top decks on the Fansite, but I deleted most of them when I created the Tyrant Not Trolls Group. I joined Men of Mayhem when they had dropped to #4 in the rankings, and I was a part of MoM's defeat of Iron Fist Sect and MoM's return to the #1 rank.

I guess you can look at my Fansite profile, too. http://tyrant.40in.net/kg/profile.php?sid=b7d6047bdzN9

What am I looking for?
Cards, lots of new cards. Let me explain. Recently, Synapse changed Tyrant and we can now sell Components (like Piston). I sold so many components that I had hundreds of thousands of gold. I purchased a bunch of Homeworld packs and I got many cards I had wanted: Mobile Base, Necrogeddon, Engulfing Chasm, and more. I purchased more reward cards, including seven more Azure Reapers. These new cards have made the game a lot more fun for me. So I want cards, especially cards I can only get with War Bonds--because I don't have any money.

How does this work?
Basically, I will help you, and if you like what I did, then you give me a tip. Let me compare: in America, in some cities, there are people that will give you a ride on their cycle-rickshaw, but they only give rides for tips. It's different than a taxi ride because the taxi has a set price for giving you a ride. If you need some help, and I agree to help you, then after I have helped you, you will decide if you want to tip me and how much you want to tip me. All tips would be in the form of GameStop Electronic Gift Cards so I can buy Kreds, which allow me to buy War Bonds.

Things I will not do
  • Cheat
  • Help you cheat
  • In a sealed tournament that is still in progress, I will not build a deck for you. I will, however, talk to you after the tournament about alternative decks you could have built.
  • Share accounts
  • Troll
  • Anything that smells like cheating or makes me uncomfortable
Why am I posting here and not on Kongregate?
Most people will not be interested in my offer to give advice for tips. If I posted this in the Kongregate forums, that thread would be trolled. On TnT, ff someone disagrees with my posting, then they can post their opinion without being a troll.

You are interested, what should you do?
Send me an email. hun...@hunterthinks.com

I realized that I have some other motivations for wanting to do this: I love puzzles, I enjoy teaching, and I like working on projects with other people. Deck construction is a puzzle for me, and since everyone has different cards and different play styles, the puzzle combinations are limitless.

I also thought of one more qualification (or endorsement): when I was in Men of Mayhem, I created a lot of new surge and defensive decks. I don't mean that I tweaked old decks: I created entirely new archetypes. One of the other faction members kindly said to me that I was the DaVinci of Tyrant.

In case you didn't know, on 4 September 2012, I took a break from Tyrant. I returned when I saw the Halloween special and the four new side missions. I completed those, and Synapse announced that the new Terminus missions would shortly be released, so I stuck around for those. Now, however, I have completed all of the new missions and the new achievements and I have full honor. I haven't completed all of the raids, but I'm pretty bored with this game. I enjoy the puzzles, and without more puzzles to work on (i.e., your puzzles) or more cards for my collection, I think I might quit until the next expansion.

Or maybe I will finish off the raids I haven't completed.

I'm not sure. My point is: if this is something you are interested in, you might want to act sooner rather than later. Don't think of this as a long-term commitment: just take it for a test drive, if you don't like it, then don't tip me. No big deal.

After I made my last post, the Xeno Domination special event was announced. As of this writing, it has about three days left.

At the same time, four factions are now level 18. I want the level 19 card, so if I can't find a Gift Card situation, I will join a faction that I think will be one of the first to reach level 19. Of course that means I will help the faction reach level 19 and I will want to have 3000 Loyalty Points when the faction reaches Level 19.

I should clarify something: my primary goal is to get War Bond cards. It seems unlikely that I will be getting any, so my secondary goal is to get the Faction Level 19 reward card. I will almost certainly join a new faction in the next few days. And it seems likely that ...

Uh, as I was writing this, I got some very good news. It wasn't explicitly related to this, but it might change how I view things and how I make my decision.

In any event, to the extent that this thread is relevant, I wanted people to know my priorities and my reason(s) for joining a faction. I don't expect a faction to "pay me to play", but I don't think I made that very clear.

I'll try to keep this thread updated.

I had planned to make a decision by now. First, I want to do something in my personal life (make a YouTube video--but it's not about Tyrant), then I will make a decision.
