Countering Atelier

Hey guys, I have had a lot of trouble countering atelier decks. When they're mixed with cards like monarch and chaos cards, it makes it very difficult for me to counter, even with righteous protect and refresh. What's the theory behind countering this card?

Monarch will counter it directly at play the turn after directly against it. Long shot is also a good counter or another attelier. Otherwise it is a difficult card to overcome however an early hope Mason or a fear spam will atypically defeat this deck as well. I have fair luck dropping israfel in front of Atelier as well. If you run hera, use impulse or cannon walker

Best Atelier counter I have used is another Atelier. Usually whoever has the first AE/Acro come online first will win the contest. Also, whoever gets the first hit has a huge advantage. When I see an Atelier dropped, I usually drop an Atelier right after followed by an AE, then I save my second AE for when the other Pinion comes online. Since I use Draco he doesn't do any damage (1 weaken + 1 protect), and thus no chance to immobilize. If I hit first and immobilize, then plus the rally there is no contest. Usually it is acceptable to sacrifice the first Atelier for the sake of bringing the Pinion online. 

The other best Atelier counter is Zarak. Zarak based decks always rape my Ateliers.

In case anyone is still reading :) I like to drop Reaver underneath Atelier, then you can drop Armor or Anti-Air under Pinion. Before the recent card buffs, I would typically go (Svet) Mobile Base > Reaver > Cannon Walker. Even if Cannon Walker starts at zero, Svet + Base + Reaver + AA = dead Pinion, and all the Atelier can do is Rally one of your guys until dead. Hydra is probably better than CW now though, as it stands a better chance against whatever follows the Atelier.

Hydra is sure fire anti-Atelier strategy. Lance Rider spam seems to work pretty well also. Never seen your strategy, but seems like it would also work.
