Default Database

Anyone here a wiz on the instalation of Typo3 ?

MySQL database has a pre-defined name which does not show up in the
install window, the other option is to create a new database and I
don't have necessary rights

Enter correct name and password (without database), click "update" at
bottom to refresh data. Databases available for entered user must shows
up in selection.

Thanks for your help.

I think I have a problem actually connecting to the database because I
am getting these sort of messages when the Typo3 Install Tool fires
up.

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through
socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in class.t3lib_db.php on line
831

Warning: mysql_list_tables(): supplied argument is not a valid
MySQL-Link resource in class.t3lib_db.php on line 892

Will have a go at finding where the bug is.
