We are launching and monitoring the state of instances via Typica.
When the instance is rebooted (e.g. from the AWS console), the
instance status displayed in the console changes to "rebooting". But
we never see a change in status via Typica - it remains "running".
Does anyone know if this is a Typica problem or a limitation of the
AWS APIs?

TIA!
Chris

Chris,

The "rebooting" state only appears in the AWS Management Console, not via any API. There isn't any API-visible way to know when an instance is (re)booting.

Drat!

Well, thanks for the reply  :)  At least I can now move forward to finding another way to deal with the problem.
