Hi,

Once I've uploaded an image is it possible to replace it with a new
version?

The image data associated with a photo asset cannot be changed once it's
uploaded. However, most of the time when a photo asset is used it's
inside another object which allows a different photo asset to be
selected later.

For example, an image uploaded as a photo asset to use in a blog post
cannot be altered later, but you can upload a new image and alter the
blog post to refer to the resulting new photo asset.

Does that help you get to what you're trying to achieve?

(The internal reason for this restriction, in case you're interested, is
that a photo asset is really a collection of several images, as we
generate different-sized thumbnail versions of the image. To avoid the
complexity of having to invalidate all of the images when the image data
changes we made it impossible to change the image data, since the usual
usage patterns for photo assets accommodate the sort of approach I
described above.)

Thanks,
Martin
