Door Check Straps

The Type 3 door check straps have been a continuing problem. I see that
ISP shows no stock and wanted $70 for one when they had them.

Has anyone come up with a good solution? I've toyed with casting
polyurethane pucks to replace the OE rubber that crumbles, but if someone
has a better solution I'd like to hear about it.

A bit of searching revealed replacment rubber pucks on cip1.com. I just
ordered a few. Unfortunately, the rubber parts are not the only thing that fails
on these.
