The Campaign and the Multiplayer parts of this game have been placed on separate pages, but feel free to do the game in any order that pleases you. It also doesn't matter if you decide to mix things up a bit as well.
In order for you to get all of the achievements within the campaign, you will need to do at least 2 playthroughs. The reason is because you need to complete the game at least once in order for you to unlock the Brutal Difficulty. In addition there are only 2 difficulties you can choose from in the game - Normal & Brutal. So since Normal difficulty is the only option you can choose from, that's the difficulty your going to have to play on.
Your first playthrough will be going through the campaign and giving yourself an idea of how to play the game. As well as that you will also be looking for all of the Weapon Upgrade Locations, which are the collectibles in this game and attempt to get all of the Misc Achievements that you can also attempt to go for in the game. You may not get all of them so if you don't have them, then you can either reload your previous checkpoint or try again another time. Don't forget that you've got to do this game twice so you can always use your second playthrough to finish off some misc achievements since everything cumulative. You will also unlock story related achievements as well that you will get whilst you are playing the campaign.
Note: The Weapon Upgrades must be obtained throughout a playthrough and you cannot change your difficulty and pick up any weapon upgrades you have missed. Changing the difficulty whilst obtaining Weapon Upgrades will reset your collectible locations and you will have to start over again. If you have missed a collectible during your playthrough, you can either reload your previous checkpoint or reload the level from the beginning on the difficulty you have been working on in order to try again.
I will provide you a written detail guide for each of the levels in the game to let you know where the collectibles are. However if you prefer a video-guide, I have placed this one that contains all of the locations in each levels as to where the collectibles are. Credit for the video goes to NTA
Overview: This mission is set as a Prologue with Hayden undercover as a agent in an attempt to find and take out a fellow agent who is known to be contaminated with the disease. In this mission, you do not have your Glaive and you are only armed with your Pistol at the start. So you may have to find another enemies weapon or you may struggle. The Machinegun is possibly your best choice.
Boss: The boss in this level is a Chopper that you meet when you are in a circular part of the level. It drops enemies and can only be defeated with an RPG. Luckily the weapon is available constantly in the battle arena you are placed in, so you do not have to worry about ammunition for the RPG at all.
Overview: You will start this level with your newly weapon that's infected on your arms: The Glaive. You will not have any other weapons on you unless you find any as you progress during the level or steal an opponents. The start of the level can be tricky because it will take you awhile to get used to the weapon and you may have to play stealth.
Upgrade 1: You will have a part during the level where you will need to use some C4 to blow up a door. When the blast occurs and the door is accessible you should see the collectible along the other end of the hallway. It should be on a table. Use your Glaive to get it.
Upgrade 2: After your first encounter with the Colossus you will have to go to an outside part and you may have to kill some enemies. Among this outer section will be a damaged building that has a small archway on the corner. The collectible is in the middle and you will have to use your Glaive to get it.
Boss: This level will give you your first encounter with the Colossus. At this moment in time you cannot defeat it and you do not have any fire-power that can damage it. So all you can do is dodge it's charge attacks and shoot the rocks that he throws to you. I have provided you a video to help you have an idea on how to pass this part of the game. Credit goes to Turd Rocket's Toilet Bowl. Notice that he looks similar towards the Tank that was on Left 4 Dead Achievements?
From this level onward, you can attempt to go for this achievement that requires you to complete a level with just your Glaive. This means that this is the only weapon you must use throughout the entire level. You are not allowed to use your shoot a weapon as that will void the achievement for the level you are playing. You must also complete the level and allow the game to load the next section before the achievement unlocks.
Overview: You will travel along a cliffpath area to an abandoned building that's infested with soldiers and eventually you will go underground to witness some infected creatures for you to tackle. You will then return to the deserted building area where they'll be plenty of soldiers for you to deal with. You will also gain some new abilities with your Glaive on this mission as well.
Upgrade 3: You will encounter a large gate that requires you to use a Power-Throw to break the lock. When the gates open you should see a campsite on your right side. Go inside and the collectible should be on the table.
Upgrade 4: You will be in an Underground Generator section and when you cross through a dark hallway section, you should see a Generator on the left side with a dead body next to the rails. Nearby this part on the right will be a small square pool of water. Use your Glaive to grab the collectible.
Upgrade 6: After learning how to use do the After-Touch move with your Glaive, you will get to a part which has an opened out arena and some small buildings. You should see a shed like building on the left side. Head to it and it will take you to an underground storage room. In the left corner you should see some obstacles with the collectible behind them. Use your Glaive to get it.
This level contains a large amount of enemies for you to defeat, so it is a possibility that you will unlock this achievement for getting a total of 30 Headshots throughout your career of playing the game. If you do not get it around this point, then it will likely unlock for you later point in the game.
In this level, you will learn how to perform a Power-Throw. A Power-Throw is when you press and hold the button on your Glaive until it turns Yellow. When thrown the Glaive will take a large amount of damage on the opponent it's aiming for, usually giving it a one-hit kill. You will need to get a total of 30 kills using this Power-Throw in order to get this achievement, so you will likely get this achievement as you play throughout the campaign as I believe you will be using this move a lot.
You will also learn in this level how to perform a After-Touch. This is done by throwing your Glaive and then pressing and holding the button while the Glaive is in mid-air. You can then control the Glaive with the , allowing you to hit any enemies that are within it's distance. You will need to get a total of 30 kills using the After-Touch method in order to get this achievement. You may not be using this method as much as Power-Throw so you will likely get this achievement later in the game.
Your Glaive can also use the environment to your advantage if you throw it into an obstacle that gives you a special ability. This would include something on fire to make the Glaive burn, something electrical to make it full of electricity and something frozen so that you can freeze enemies.
From this level onward you will have situations where you will find fire pits and items that will be lit in flames and on fire. If you throw your Glaive into the flames you will set it alight on a temporary basis and it will allow you to burn your enemies to death. You need to get a total of 30 kills with a Glaive that's on fire in order to get this achievement.
This level onward also contains a perfect spot within the ship that allows you to give your Glaive electricity. If you throw the Glaive into an item that's sparkling with electricity, your Glaive will be electrocuted on a temporary basis and it will allow you to shock an enemy to death when thrown. You will need to get 30 kills with an electrocuted Glaive in order to get this achievement.
With the new moves you have unlocked with your Glaive, it's possible that you could cut your opponents head with it. If you manage to do so then you will progress towards this achievement. Once you have obtained your 30th kill with the Glaive that cuts the opponents head off, you will get this achievement.
Overview: This is a very lengthy level based within a deserted part of a town, a catacomb area and then eventually a church. You will also encounter some new infected-alike creatures that will run on all fours and attempt to attack you with their claws. Whilst a handful can easily be dealt with, a big bunch might prove some challenges.
Upgrade 7: Within the deserted town you will go around a school to gain entrance to it. You will climb up a small set of stairs and then you will turn and travel left-ward. There will be a little archway on your left and there will be a Red Sign covered with tape that looks like the Chemical logo. The collectible will be on the left of this sign in the corner.
Upgrade 8: In the school area, you will break open a door that will take you to the fountain area on the lower floor. There will be some infected creatures around and some standard enemies. You will need to walk around and reach the other side of the room. From here head to your right and right again and you should see the collectible in the corner.
Upgrade 9: You will reach a part where Colossus will come in and attack part of the school. When he runs off, run to where he was and you should see a tree on your left. On the left side of the tree you will see the collectible behind a tent.
