Miracle Story

Recently, I have been working on Shmiras Einayim (guarding one's eyes) and had been wondering how I was doing, and so one night I asked H.sh.m if He would please give me a sign on how I was doing.

A couple days later I went to the birthday celebration of a close family friend. However, shortly after I got there, as crazy as it may sound, I felt this almost unimaginably strong force pushing me away from the gathering of people - almost like a Lo Aleichem (may no one know from such things) anxiety attack, but at the same time clearly not. The best way I can describe it was that I was in a toothpaste tube and somebody was trying very hard to squeeze me out, though even that is not correct.

So I left and went to sit in the car, and as I had brought a Sefer (book, usually Torah book) along with me, I decided to try and learn a little bit. I tried a couple times to go back, but that same force kept pushing me out.

Finally, I decided I would just go back and sit there.

When I got back I was told that it was a good thing that I had not been there as there had been some family photos that were shown that while okay for family, were not okay for someone outside the family.

It was the sign I had asked for - clear and simple - that I am on the correct path.

And before anyone asks, no I am not anyone special that HaKadosh Baruch Hu (G-d) should answer me.

I am just a simple Yid (Jew) trying to do the best he can in what he knows.
