We had another great message on Luke 15 about the 3 parables: Lost Sheep, Lost Coin, and Prodigal Son. Mike spoke about how the Pharisees thought they knew who Jesus was. Yet, Jesus threw them off guard when he told them the parables.
The God of the Pharisees was: Judgmental, Rule follower, Unforgiving, Cared only for "worthy"
The God of Jesus was: Forgiving, Desperate to save the lost, Active, Accepting
We discussed how we can be like the Pharisees at times (judgmental, unforgiving, etc). The Pharisees were shocked to see Jesus spending time with the tax collectors and "sinners". If Jesus were here today, who would he be spending time with? Would you be judgmental like the Pharisees or accepting like Jesus?
