Bursary 2012

We are now accepting applications for the NITA Technical
Theatre Bursary 2012. There are several bursaries available
under this scheme, which is designed to support the professional development of
practitioners in technical theatre.
Who can apply?
Applications are invited from
individuals who have a basic grounding in technical theatre and are seeking an
opportunity to hone their current skills and learn new ones under the guidance
of expert mentors.
In addition applicants must be:
Ø Over eighteen years of age
Ø Currently residing within Northern Ireland
What is the NITA Technical Theatre Bursary
2012?
The NITA technical Theatre Bursary 2012 is designed to facilitate
professional development of technical theatre practitioners by funding
successful bursary candidates:
Ø To complete a technical theatre placement over the course of approximately 6 weeks with a NITA member.
Ø To be mentored by a professional from within the technical theatre sector.
Successful bursary candidates will be paid standard
equity rates and provision will be made for subsistence and accommodation costs.
Placement hosts
Placements will be conducted
through a NITA member production company/venue. A substantial number of
NITA members, from across Northern Ireland, have displayed interest in hosting
placements.
Hosts will be allocated to chosen bursary candidates on a best fit basis - taking into account candidate’s experiences, areas of interest and availability in order to find a host that will be best placed successfully host the candidate.
When will the bursary placements take place?
Dates
for each bursary placement will be allocated in accordance with host
availability throughout 2012. Some hosts have more flexible dates than
others and your availability in relation to this will be further discussed at
your interview.

- Cover letter (no more than 300 words on why you would like to be considered for this bursary and what you are looking to get out of this placement).
- Your CV.
- Your current availability.
In addition, please state whether you consider yourself to have a disability.
If you do consider yourself to have a disability please give brief details of the effects of the disability on your day to day activities, and any other information that you feel would help us to accommodate your needs.
