Greetings Texas Oklahoma District!

I sincerely hope that you all have been making the most out of your summer so far! Even though it can be difficult to schedule service projects during the summer, I can tell from the service hours that have been reported that CKI members are still making service a priority in their lives. I can't wait to start the new school year and continue to work towards our district goals. T-Ogether we carry on the legacy that has been set by the members of our district through hard work and dedication.

Below are some of the most important updates in the CKI-world that I hope you will enjoy and take advantage of:

We are Looking for A District Editor!

The District Editor is responsible for producing the T-O Today (our official district newsletter),  and giving direction to the Public Relations and Marketing committee as a whole. The Editor is considered a District Board member and thus will have major responsibilities. If you are interested in applying, the application can be found [HERE], under the District Committee Applications - Public Relations and Marketing (Editor). I encourage you to look through this application thoroughly before submitting it. Please submit completed committee chair application by email no later than 11:59 CST on August 23rd, 2014 to gove...@txokcki.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to email the listed email address. I look forward to reviewing your application!

T-O District Committee Member Applications!

This year we are pushing to fill our committees with members that will help with the duties of the committee and connect with the District as a whole. Becoming part of something bigger than yourself is an incredible feeling and we encourage you to apply and represent your home chapter in our organization. The leadership and experience you will develop will help you grow personally and professionally. As a committee member, you will be responsible for helping the T-O District of Circle K International to promote service, leadership, and fellowship throughout its chapters. District committees are a vital part of the District Board, and district committee members are the ones who help accomplish such immense tasks at hand.

We are currently looking for members in the following Committees:
  • Membership Development & Education
  • Kiwanis Family
  • District Events
  • Public Relations & Marketing
If you are interest in applying to be a member for any of the district committees mentioned above, you can access the applications by visiting our [Resources] page in our District Website! All Committee Member Applications will be due September 5, 2014 at 11:59pm to the respective Committee Chair. For more information, feel free to download the Committee Application that you are interested in applying. Best of luck!

The Eliminate Project Challenge -
A message from International President Kathy Le

"From August 15 to September 15, I have asked members to get fit for The Eliminate Project by participating in at least one hour of moderate to strenuous physical activity each day. For every day that they miss, they must donate $1.80 to the campaign. I wanted to use this as an opportunity to help Circle K International reach our goal for The Eliminate Project before September 30 (US$7.20 per-member, saving four lives) and I thought this would be a fantastic way to do so. The video is here: http://youtu.be/BBmuvjiBUFw. I am excited to see how much is raised!"

Tomorrow Fund Grant Application now live!

The Tomorrow Fund offers grant money to clubs and districts in good standing that are in need of funds to complete a service project. Through a reimbursement process, clubs and district may receive between US $200 and US$2000 towards a service project in order to impact their campus or community. Tomorrow Fund grant applications are due December 1, but it's never to early to begin thinking about what additional funds your club or district may need to support and existing project or begin a new signature service project. All the information is available online [HERE]! Check it out!

There's an App to Grow your CKI Chapter!
