Hello Texas-Oklahoma District!

Fall Retreat is almost here! Don't miss out on the opportunity to meet new people and have the time of your life with the Texas-Oklahoma District of Circle K International.

Here are five things to keep in mind to prepare your chapter for this fun weekend!
  1. Registration
  2. Canpetition
  3. Hunger Games Theme
  4. Ice-Bucket Challenge
  5. Social Media

The deadline for Early Bird Registration is TODAY, Friday, October 24th, 2014 Here is the link for online registration:

Early Registration expense is $80 per member, and the Regular Registration expense is $95. The registration fee includes lodging for both Friday and Saturday in heated cabins with bathrooms, three meals on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday, and a t-shirt. Payments can be made by a club check or a personal payment by debit/credit card.

Common questions:
  • What if my chapter is paying with a check?
    • Register each member individually with the online registration form.  Tell each member to select the payment option of "club check" at the end of the form.
  • What if my chapter is only paying for part of my members?
    • Tell your members who are not covered by your chapter to register individually through the online registration form and select the electronic payment option.  For the members that are being covered by your chapter, they will simply check the club check option.
  • When should the chapter submit the checks for the event?
    • As soon as possible is the preferred method, but the chapters can bring the checks to check-in on Friday, November 7th, 2014 at 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Note: Anyone who fails to register by the early bird registration time, Friday, October 24th, 2014 will be required to pay the regular registration price of $95.

We are having a CAN-PETITION Service Project During Fall Retreat!  This service project is designed to help the preferred charity of CKI, STUFH (Students Team Up to Fight Hunger).  What is important to note about this project is that the supplies will not be provided, so encourage your members to bring as many cans as possible to the competition because we will be awarding reporting points to the chapter that brings the most cans per member.  A good way to reach this goal is to host a canned-food drive. The fun part about all of this is that we will be constructing a large structure out of the food raised.  All proceeds will be donated to a local soup kitchen.  All non-perishable food items are encouraged, that includes ramen noodles.

The Fall-Retreat theme this year is The Hunger Games.  A fun way to get your chapter pumped about attending is to plan a social where you can watch the Hunger Games movie.  This will be especially fun because members will then look forward to watching Catching Fire at Fall Retreat and bring the story to life and also get you all prepared for the release of the new Hunger Games movie!!

We need you to ensure that your members come have fun with us!  We are awarding each chapter that brings a sufficient amount of members to Fall Retreat!  For every 7 members a chapter brings, we will let you dump a bucket of iced-water on the head of whichever board member you choose!  If you bring 28 members, you win 4 opportunities to send a board member screaming!  So, I encourage you to promote Fall Retreat to everyone you can because none of your members will want to miss this. :)

Lastly, get pumped about Fall Retreat through social media!  Tell your members how they can get interactive.
  • Use the hashtag #ckifr14 so that everyone can stay connected with what's happening over the weekend and also get new followers from all the new friends you will make!

I can't wait to see you all at our first district event! The district board has been working tirelessly to put together an event that you'll remember for years to come.
