Thought I'd let you know that my wife and I have decided to retire. Juanita's will be effective May 31, mine August 31. We have purchased a home in Kona, Hawaii.
It was 26 degrees when I arrived at the office today…and that’s almost the temperature IN MY OFFICE right now. Darn you, Mel. Hawaii?
Go, and stay humble, dude! Be sure and come back for TAHPERD conventions periodically, but remember my maxim: “Past presidents should be seen, but not heard!”
Blessings,
Pug

You have been a great friend and colleague! I wish you all of the success in the world. You will have to stay in touch. Vicki and I have never been to Hawaii!

Congratulations Mel to you and Juanita! I still wish your last years of working in Texas would had been at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi as our dean of the College of Education. Our dean is pretty good, but I believe you were the right person for the job and would have been amazing. On top of that, I would have loved to work for you!
God bless!

It’s 20 degrees and feels like 12 degrees right now in Lubbock. Hawaii sounds pretty good. Congratulations on retirement! Thanks for all of your service over the years. God Bless. Toby
