I need a fax machine for my new office. The only requirement is that
it must WORK (send and receive) and that it takes plain paper. I will
pay $25 for one, depending on how new it is and the condition.

Fax ? Machine ? Standalone ?
a PC that is all you need.
XP has a built in fax program.
