Does anyone out there know of a good deal on a new, full faced helmet.
I currently use a Fulmer (stop laughing) and need a new face shield and
other small parts. I am on a limited budget (less than 200 perferably
around 150).

Chapparel has Shoei RF-200's on clearance sale for $135. I ordered mine
today, and with s&h, it came out to $142. I should get it in less than
a week....

A really good deal for anyone looking for a helmet.

Where is Chapparel? I like my current RF-200 and wouldn't mind
having a second helmet. But I do have one problem with my Shoei:

On my current RF-200, the face shield does not seem to 'lock' when
fully closed. Sometimes when on the highway and it is particularly
windy, my face shield can get caught by the wind and blows open when
I turn my head to check traffic in an adjacent lane. Does anyone
else ever have this problem? My brother's old Bell helmet had a
'locking' mechanism that holds the shield closed when you fully
close it. Are there any type of devices that I can add to keep the
shield closed? It can be rather distracting on the freeway.

Their phone number is 800-841-2960, and if they ask for an ad number, tell them
#0594MC.

I have exactly the same problem. When you close the face shield, you need
to give it a good hard flick so that it closes tightly. Actually, I've
found that this is easier to do once you're moving at a good pace because
the wind helps snap it into place.
