Nebraska TWS Colleagues:

I am an at large board member with NETWS, but today I’m writing to this NE TWS network from my UNL leadership role. Many of you are aware that US Forest Service recently announced reduction in force, and I’ve been told that USDA NRCS offices in Nebraska may also have been impacted.

Our Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources is working with the NU System leadership to loosely characterize the impact of this action in Nebraska. No names are required, but if you are aware of numbers of individuals impacted in certain sections of the state…I have offered to gather that information for our administrators.

Beyond assisting with outward messaging to the public and our legislative delegation about these workers’ impact, our NU administration is also prepared to assist federal employees who may need letters of support to show impact of their position if they submit materials to try to keep their jobs.

I suggest you reply to me (only) at lpow...@unl.edu   These are unique times, and my hope is that you see this as a supportive move by the NU system for our federal colleagues. You are welcome to call me or text me: 402-217-5509  If you are concerned about FOIA requests, you are also welcome to use a personal email to write back to me.

My thanks,

Larkin Powell
