The USFWS’ Habitat and Population Evaluation Team (HAPET) Data Manager position is now open to both the government and general public. This position will support the entire HAPET suite of projects spanning waterfowl, grasslands, wetlands, waterbirds, and other foci, but a major portion of time will be devoted to the NWR system’s four-square mile waterfowl productivity survey. The position is an interdisciplinary GS 11/12 and candidates can qualify as a Biologist or Geographer. The duty station will be in Bismarck, ND or Fergus Falls, MN (to be determined at the time of selection). The announcement opened Friday 5/3/24 and will close on Monday 5/20/24.

The Habitat and Population Evaluation Team (HAPET) is part of the National Wildlife Refuge System of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service). The HAPET office supports the conservation mission of the Service by integrating scientific data and landscape-scale conservation planning with a focus on migratory birds. This mission enables the Service and conservation partners to more effectively conserve, protect, and manage wildlife and habitat.
