"For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? or am I striving to
please men? if I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of
Christ." Galatians 1:10
In Galatians, Paul was boldly dispersing some difficult correctional
truths. Potentially the truths could bring him a lot of rejection and
unpopularity with many people.
"He that feareth man, shall quickly fall: he that trusteth in the
Lord, shall be set on high." Proverbs 29:25
it is natural to want to please people, to fear people, but when it
comes to speaking the truth, while I always need to speak it gently
and in love, I need to be sure my desire is to please my Heavenly
Father. When there is a choice between His side or a person's side, I
always want to be on His side. Speaking the truth in love is sometimes
difficult, but it's always better for me, AND the person I'm talking
to.
Know: It takes faith in God to please Him "Without faith it is
impossible to please God."
Change: Don't fear people or try to please them, fear God and say and
do what pleases Him.
Do: Trust Him to give me the right words (His Truth) and the love and
courage to speak them.
