Civil Society Groups Condemn Escalating CCP Transnational Repression
[New Tang Dynasty Beijing Time, August 7, 2025] On August 5, a symposium titled "Defending Freedom and Opposing CCP Transnational Repression" was held at Toronto City Hall in Canada. Participants exposed the truth about the transnational repression of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and called for stronger protections of democracy and freedom.
At the symposium on Tuesday, several civil society group representatives condemned the CCP's intensified harassment and intimidation of Falun Gong and other democracy movement groups overseas.
Toronto Falun Gong practitioner Pan Xuefeng stated: "From May to July of this year, there were frequent incidents of harassment of Falun Gong practitioners. Two attacks on truth-clarification booths occurred within a single day. One was in front of the Chinese Consulate, where overseas Chinese students tore down display boards, and the other involved beating and photographing Falun Gong practitioners. This demonstrates that the CCP's sabotage is orchestrated, planned, and purposeful."
Wei Jingsheng Foundation's Executive Director Huang Ciping stated: "The CCP's tactics have evolved to include leveraging American laws, pro-democracy traitors, and disguised pro-democracy activists to carry out transnational repression."
They also revealed that the CCP has been escalating its crackdown on the Shen Yun Performing Arts Company. In addition to issuing bomb and death threats, they are also using legal and media campaigns to disrupt the Shen Yun performances in Canada.
Michael Cui, a representative of Shen Yun Toronto's organizers, stated: "During the peak of the Shen Yun season, there were at least 140 bomb and shooting threats (from the Chinese Communist Party) targeting Shen Yun worldwide. The bomb threats originated from the Huawei Research Institute in Xi'an."
Sheng Xue, Vice Chairperson of the Democratic Front for China, stated: "As Shen Yun develops, it represents a comprehensive attack on communist culture."
In recent years, the CCP's transnational repression has spread to the broader Chinese community, threatening the foundations of social freedom. Participants called for urgent legislation to protect values of liberty.
Gloria Fung, convener of the "Foreign Agents Registration Act Coalition," stated: "The CCP is using the National Security Law to arrest dissidents in Hong Kong. I hope everyone will work together to fully implement this Foreign Agents Registration Act."
Yu Houqiang, Chairman of the China Democratic Party in Canada, stated: "We must stand up for ourselves and protect our freedom."
Internet influencer Toronto Square Face stated: "Opposing transnational repression is protecting Canadian values."
Toronto Falun Gong practitioner Pan Xuefeng stated: "We urge the Canadian government to enact legislation to protect Falun Gong and stop the CCP's transnational repression. This is urgent."

在週二的研討會中，多位民間團體代表譴責中共在海外加劇對法輪功及其他民運團體的騷擾與恐嚇。
多倫多法輪功學員潘學峰：「今年5月到7月頻繁的出現騷擾（法輪功）學員事件，一天內發生了兩起攻擊真相點的事件。一是在中領館前，留學生撕毀展板，二是毆打、拍照法輪功學員。這說明中共是有指揮、有計劃、有目的地進行破壞。」
「魏京生基金會」執行主任黃慈萍：「中共的策略已經進化到了利用美國法律和民運叛徒以及偽裝的假民運人士，來進行跨國鎮壓。」
他們還揭露，中共不斷升級對神韻藝術團的打壓，除了發出炸彈與死亡威脅，還透過法律與輿論戰干擾其在加拿大的演出。
神韻多倫多主辦方代表Micheal Cui：「 神韻演出季達到高峰，（全球）至少140起（中共）針對神韻的炸彈和槍擊威脅。炸彈信是來自於西安華為研究所。」
民陣全球副主席盛雪：「當神韻發展起來，就是對共產文化是一個全面的一個狙擊。」

Civil Society Groups Condemn Escalating CCP Transnational Repression
[New Tang Dynasty Beijing Time, August 7, 2025] On August 5, a symposium titled "Defending Freedom and Opposing CCP Transnational Repression" was held at Toronto City Hall in Canada.
