The Reincarnation of History
-- Wei Jingsheng
Since it is easy to violate taboos of the Chinese leaders when filming modern TV dramas, and no one knows what the taboos exactly are, dramas in old time
costumes, or what Mr. Yuan Tengfei called dramas pretending to be about the old times, are very popular. This has popularized a lot of historical
knowledge about China. Although they are mixed with truth and falsehood, they are slightly better than the old dramas on the traditional Chinese
stage. They more or less help people know a little about Chinese history. Many friends have thus questioned why there are so many similarities
between the present and history? Isn't this reincarnation?
The most similar story is probably that of Emperor Chongzhen at the end of the Ming Dynasty. The corruption of officials of the Ming Dynasty officials
was no less than that of any other dynasty. The elite class hid the silver from corruption in their cellars and hometowns. The amount was so
large that the emperor's court had no money to pay wages, so it had to lay off employees. Thus Li Zicheng and other laid-off officials became the
backbone of the peasant uprising, and their momentum was so great that the emperor's rule was shaken. At this time, a eunuch party emerged, and they
snatched back a lot of silver from the cellars of the elite officials, maintaining the operation of the Ming Dynasty.
When the young emperor came to power, in order to win over the elite class and consolidate his rule he eliminated the eunuch group and allowed the elite
bureaucrats to continue to be corrupt. As a result, the court continued to be unable to pay wages, the people were starving everywhere, the momentum of
the rebellion expanded several times, and the situation on the border took a sharp turn for the worse. In the end, the young emperor had to find a
crooked tree on the Coal Hill to hang himself, and the Ming Dynasty thus perished.
The current emperor Xi followed this script by removed Eunuch Wang (Qishan) in order to please the elite bureaucratic class. Fortunately, Xi didn't
take Wang's head, but just let him go home under house arrest to read books, play cards, and live a fairy-like life. Corrupt officials and profiteers
can continue to exploit the people in the open and continue to widen the gap between the rich and the poor in China. This situation is exactly the same
as in the late Ming Dynasty. The only difference is that one doesn't have to put his silver in the cellar and wait for the peasant army to dig it out,
but instead send it directly to foreign banks, which is both safe and fast.
The problem is that Emperor Xi is not a real emperor after all, and his authority is not at the level of Emperor Mao (Zedong). Simply removing Eunuch
Wang is not enough to eliminate the dissatisfaction of the ruling elites. Xi has no way but to continue meeting the wishes of the corruptive officials
and profiteers, such as cashing out their assets in real estate and stock markets in China to facilitate the transfer of their assets to banks and real
estate in the foreign countries. Thus inflation is created, taking money out of the pockets of ordinary Chinese, and putting it in the Chinese real
estate and stock markets, and letting these officials and profiteers cash it out and transfer their assets.
When the money is no longer enough, what should be done? Now various funds are targeted and even pension funds are required to be invested in the
Chinese stock market to facilitate the transfer of assets by big officials and profiteers. The Chinese pension funds are already stretched to the
limit. Many experts have called for an increase in pension funds, otherwise they will not be able to cope with the aging climax in China. Now
that funds are withdrawn from there, how can the average Chinese survive?
But this is not a problem in Xi Jinping's eyes. And it is not a problem either in the eyes of the elite bureaucrats who have begun to run away from
China. That is because they have always only cared about themselves, not the country and the Chinese people. It doesn't matter whether you
ignorant Chinese people die or not, as long as our wives and children live a life of luxury in the United States. "Go away and have fun inside of
China," this is their true face of "serving the people".
This mentality of being immersed in fantasy is very similar to Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty. Coupled with the modern flatterers, the Internet in
China is full of so-and-so being scared and so-and-so kneeling down (to the CCP). Today is "the sixth generation of fighter jets", tomorrow "it will be
the seventh generation for China". The whole world is no longer an opponent strong enough for China. Coupling with starting a few more wars, all
internal conflicts will be resolved. Isn't this Emperor Sui Yang back then? The surrounding small countries can be bullied at will. "I have
already wiped out all the pests and am invincible". However, at the end, it is forgotten that Emperor Sui Yang was defeated in his conquest of
Korea.
It's not a pity that Emperor Sui Yang fell at the end. However, the people of the whole country suffered with him. Fortunately, the average
Chinese in ancient times dared to rebel, and after countless deaths and injuries, they created a new life. Also fortunately, the elites in ancient
times dared to rebel and led the people to replace the tyrants. Nevertheless, Xi Jinping has become modernized and bribed the grassroots civil servants
with high salaries. It is estimated that no one will follow the people to rebel. Also, there is no threat from the cavalry from Manchuria, so it
seemed that Xi could have a good ending. Such a good wish was also the driving force that pushed Emperor Sui Yang to his demise.
