Brainstorming: last-minute attention from the political blogospheres?

Looking at where Twitter Vote Report and Voter Suppression Wiki have and haven't gotten coverage, there's a huge void in the political blogospheres. These are a great potential source of informed people to help on election day -- as sweepers as well as participants -- and of course could really help us get the word out between now and then.

Thoughts about how we can change this dynamic on Sunday night/Monday?

I am confused - we have not gotten coverage from:

Open Left?
DailyKos?
Firedog Lake?
other local blogs?

One of the things Beka and I were discussing last night was the access to local television stations and local blogs in the battleground states.  Anyone have a list or access to blogs in these states:
  • Florida (I have a list of stations)
  • Ohio
  • Nevada
  • Virginia
  • Colorado
  • Missouri
  • Indiana
  • North Carolina
  • New Mexico
Anyone else?

I have the information in the table under media outreach.  We have gotten mentioned in Florida, Ohio and Nevada.  Don't know what's up with Virginia and North Carolina.

I have also tried to get Georgia L from Daily Kos to write about it---haven't followed up since Friday.  Will do so today.

We did get stories on several women's political blogs:  Pundit Mom, Change.org, BlogHer (with more to come there), and hopefully Momocrats.

In some other cases, people are adding the badges and not writing stories.

What has there been on the DailyKos front page?  http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/10/29/101716/77 is the only link Google returns, with only 3 comments.  On firedoglake Linday Bernstein had something in The Campaign Silo but again I don't think it was front-paged -- the other four mentions on FDL are all from me.  On OpenLeft, mine's the only post mentioning it (along with a lot of other things); I asked Matt and Chris to front-page it but no response.

Other than me, who has been reaching out to these sites?

Great info, Devanshu ... clearly we're getting a lot more traction with state blogs in the battleground states ... let's think about how we can get them all an update tomorrow to give them a good reason to post about us again ...

I have, very little actionable response.  I am trying again today with Georgia who is a contributing editor on the site

I have personally contacted those in red.  I contacted other flagship progressive sites in Ohio and Florida (Writeslikeshetalks.com and the Florida Progressives.

There has been no response from Raising Kaine or Blue NC.

To restress this:

On the Media Outreach page on the wiki, there is a table with all proposed contacts and those who expressed the desire to own them.  If people looked at the table, they could see who owns what contact, who has been contacted, and if there was a clear result. Might be worth a look to make sure you have covered your contacts.

We have Andy's appearance on Weekend Edition, the video, Plodt example and maybe another visualization to send out by tomorrow - that's lots of good stuff.  Also, Nancy posted the other day on techPresident (http://www.techpresident.com/blog/entry/32398/the_soft_launch_of_the_twitter_vote_report_project) on some of the tweets we've received that are very powerful real-life examples of how the site is working.

I'm writing up a post for the TVR blog on the state-specific embeddable maps we now have available. Oh yeah, in case you didn't know, yep, we indeed have state specific maps up and running. I'll post to the list when that post goes up, and that might be a good hook for local blogs and bloggers. We can very easily send them custom code for their state.

Nice, although we really should be shooting for posts about us, not just links in a roundup.

I don't know her, but I sent a note to Kate Phillips and Sarah
Wheaton. I'm sure they'll see your comment, too, Andy.

Allison was in touch with her a bit earlier today, and made note of the fact that there's no relationship with Twitter.
