Putting a Twitter API key in a Google Docs spreadsheet

Hi,

I'm just starting out by trying out the Twitter API with Google Docs
spreadsheet. I can use the =IMPORTXML() function with a
search.twitter.com url to populate my spreadsheet. However, I get rate-
limited fairly quickly.

I'm guessing that getting an API key would be a way to stop this from
happening, but I'm at a loss to know how to get that into my
spreadsheet.

I'd be grateful for some advice on this.
