Is there any way to turn of or circumvent automatic tinyurl conversion
of urls? I want to use my own url-shortening implementation, but it
looks like it's just a few characters to long for twitter to leave it
as-is. If not, is there any way to track specific feature requests if
they get integrated into the roadmap? It would be nice to have
notification about such things without having to subscribe to the list
wholesale or check back later.

I don't intend to allow developers to disable our URL-shortening. No
need to check back on that one!

I posted about this on Feb 1 in this list, archived here:

questions about URLs in tweets
<http://groups.google.com/group/twitter-development-talk/browse_thread/thread/9b030491fee28e64/d60c5a4909d4d660>

As I say in that post, if a URL contains only alphanumeric
characters, the slash character (/), and the dot character (.),
it will be left alone and not converted to a tinyurl URL (at
least that was the case when I did experiments around Feb 1).

Hope this helps,
Nancy
