Retweet_count not reflecting in status/user_timeline api response

Hi,

Does retweet_count value reflect in the response from status/user-
timeline api?
When I check for a tweet which has been retweeted, the value for
retweet_count is shown as null.

The request url I am using - http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.xml?screen_name={username}

Am I doing anything wrong?
Or is there any better way to get retweet_count any public tweets?

Hi Mahesh,

Though you'll see the field surface in responses, it has not yet been "switched on" to accurately report retweet totals. We'll make an announcement when new fields like this are ready for consumption.
