FYI -- we have had to change the project proposal related to Cassovary for GSOC'14. The updated project can be found here:

Hello ,

I am a Phd candidate at the National Technical University of Athens and my research effort is focused on social graph mining. I have worked mostly with labeled social graphs , especially signed networks with positive/negative relationships between users. I have experience with the Neo4j graph db and I am currently reviewing the source code of the cassovary project on github to familiriaze myself with it. I was thinking about implementing various projects with different requirements e.g.  from some simple standard user similarity measures like Adamic/Adar, Jaccard etc to more complex tasks like motif detection techniques. Are these in the scope of the Gsoc program?

Thank you in advance,
Best regards,
Thanos

That's great.

Do I need to come up with a detailed plan (for 10-12 weeks) in order to apply for this position?

Thank you,
