Small Thumbnail and checking if channel is live

i was wondering if there is anyway i can set my webpage to show a small thumbnail of the streamers stream and show if they are live or not then have it redirect to their twitch page if they click the thumbnail. and help would be awesome!

Hi Zo,

We have a public API (https://github.com/justintv/Twitch-API) that you can use to pull information from Twitch.  Feel free to use it for this purpose, but please try to keep polling to a reasonable rate.  :)

Which JSON request do you use to find out if the channel is live? I looked through all of them and couldn't see it in any responses.
