Stream Start Volume

It appears that an update to Twitch about a week ago made it impossible to set the starting volume of an embedded stream, although the GitHub still says it should be possible. I've tried and tried, but nothing will work. Is this feature going to return, or is it gone for good?

The stream(s) at the top of the page should have no volume when first loaded. But the change to Twitch makes all streams (embedded or not), start with the volume options from the last stream that user watched. So if a user just watched a stream on full blast, then comes to my website, the stream(s) will start playing at full. Annoying..

Is there going to be a fix / update to this anytime soon?
