DHT and Hole punching

Hello there,

By reading paper, I understood that twister user Kademilia  DHT. Since most of the node will be under some kind of NAT , it become requirement that the node have   punch hole in their NAT. So how exactly is this implemented does the kbucket saves the private and public ip's of peers ? Do we have rendezvous server helping the nodes to connect ? It would be great if some one help with these question or provide me to some link where I can read.
