Hi

I am really keen on swapping bedrooms round and getting my twins into bunk beds.

They are 4, is this too young ? and if so what age would be recommended.

Thanks

Jane

I would let mine use bunks at that age. My 4yo has an Ikea platform bed, and his friend has had one since he was three.

Isn't it one of those individual child things? If whoever is going to use the top bunk is a confident climber and the bunk bed has proper sides in place so they can't fall off at night, I don't see why you wouldn't let them!

Come to think of it, I shared a bunk bed with my brother when I was three and he was four. We were fine!

My five year old daughter has been in the top bunk for a year now and the twins share the bottom single bunk!  She doesn't tend to get up at night for the toilet though, this would be the only issue, whether they are likely to get up and if you should have a night light on if they do. Just a thought.

Thanks ladies.

That advice all sounds very sensible. I'm sure they will cope with them now at 4. Waiting til age 6 seemed a bit far off.
