the Grade. Can't say I'm a big fan of racing up a hill.
On the other hand . . .
This used to be well attended by TRCers.
This is a major cycling event in the valley that should be
supported by area cyclists.
We haven't had a club function following this event since they
started charging to park at Chief Timothy. It's probably too late to put
together a barbecue, but I could see riding back to Fazzari's or
Antonio's for pizza following the ride.
For those who would like a bit more distance, we could start at
Southway or the Corps, ride out to Timothy, do the "race," have our
lunch and back to the rigs. If we kept it short and flat, a couple beers
with my pizza might still allow me to get back to the parking lot.
Wonder if we could park at Antonios or Fazzari's to start?
Barring that, I'm open to a longer ride either extending I Made the
Grade or just skipping it. Here's a ride, I haven't done. Top of the
grade through Genessee to Troy, then to Kendrick and back. Problem with
that route is you don't get a rest stop between Genessee and Kendrick
unless you ride down into Troy which means you've got a 12 percent climb
out.
Either way, the forecast looks warm and dry so a ride is mandatory.:-)
