The sun's finally coming out and warming things up a bit. I can't believe I haven't been around Winchester yet this year. My foot kept me down in March but I've been riding strong the last two weeks, but threat of snow has made anything out of the valley to risky.
I'm a little worried about calling for Winchester the day before Nicki's birthday ride, but I know I can do both. And Dave T. and Jim M both suggest they'll join me. Well, Jim's gotta get special permission so we might not see him.--Corrie
5/3/08 Saturday, 8 am Southway boat launch Winchester ride
This is not quite a century but you'll know you've been out for a ride. With the forecast calling for 59 degrees and a "realfeel" of 68 degrees, we should be quite comfortable on the Prairie and there's no rain in this forecast as there is for Saturday on the Palouse.
5/4/08 Sunday, 10 am Ride from the Riddles in the Orchards 58 miles
Nicki's having a birthday. I won't say which one it is but she wants to ride 58 miles. The plan is to start at the Riddles and ride out 29 miles toward Buffalo Eddy and turn around. She promises ice cream and brownies after the ride. I'll do almost anything for ice cream. I've been on a diet for three months. Still, I'm going to bring snacks along for the ride 'cause there's no support above Asotin. An I'll be hungry by noon. Expect to be back after 2, perhaps before 3. 3818 11th street E.
Take Note: Poor weather calls for cancellation without warning. All rides begin at the Southway boat launch unless otherwise noted.
