Okay, so it is Labor Day weekend. That just means we've got three days
to choose from. I personally prefer Saturday with forecasts on both
Prairie and the Palouse of highs at just 80. Looks like a great weekend
for a climb out of the valley or even a long ride on the Palouse.

I'm open to suggestions. I missed out on the Teko ride Kenyon had earlier.

I'm going to be out riding. Would love companions. Let me know if you
are available.

I'm up for a longer ride on the 5th. Perhaps a ride to Dworshak State Park
and back would do the trick?

Bill, from Southway to Kendrick, up Southwick and on to Dworshak? How
far is that? Would that route keep us out of Labor Day traffic?

I've done a couple of loop rides in the Pomeroy area on paved roads. Not
sure I could retrace them on my own. Downside? No support along the way.

Bill, you haven't given us any more info on a ride to Dworshak on Monday.
Doug, I think we'd probably get 50 or 60 miles if we just didn't do that
southeastern portion of the Pomeroy route you proposed. We could start
at the park in Pomeroy and go either way. I think I'd prefer riding down
to Central Ferry first. That's a tougher climb than the gradual climb
we'd have going clockwise. A 9:00 am start? Yeah,

I guess I could see if my hydration pack still works.

I didn't think about the traffic, maybe not such a good idea on that day.
Yes that is the ride I was thinking of.

I am only free on Monday. If you want a ride with support, the ride to
Washtucna has supply stops and awesome views. I tried to get folks
interested last year without any luck. I believe it's a 70 mile out and back
if started at highway 12.

This route may also have labor day traffic. Winebagos and boat trailers?

Lions ferry boat launch is closed permanently, and so is most of the park
except the swimming beach. I think Dworshak State Park would have a lot more
activity than the Lions Ferry area. Also, we could ride to Kahlotus instead
of Washtucna, for a change of scenery.

So no water/food stops except at the turn around?

No, the marina is still open. Services are at: Starbuck, the Marina, and Washtucna. The Marina is within a mile or so from Lions Ferry, we stopped there 2 yrs ago. Anyways, it’s just an idea, you guys can choose whatever ride you want. I am working this weekend and Monday is the only day I can ride.

Here is a loop route for you. Drive past pomeroy a little ways and
start at the intersection that has the bathroom and parking area. Go
either direction.
