Here's a request from the Senior Games for a way to attract more cyclists. Seems the 10 mile time trial course isn't doing it. They want to add some hills and distance while remembering that competitors will all be 50 or older.

The 40k time trial course is still marked from the last time the college competitions were held inthe valley. While that doesn't offer hills, it does give 'em more to think about.

The very idea of racing up a hill makes me want to lie down for a nap, but I know Bill McPherson would love it.

So what do you think? Any ideas for an event a bit more challenging than the 10 mile time trial?

Send your suggestions to me and I'll forward them to Cathy.

Hi Corrie,

For the past several years, the North Idaho Senior Games has included a cycling event.  This event uses the 10K time trial route near Red Wolf Bridge.  We want to change the cycling even this year to be more challenging.  We are thinking of lengthening the distance, and changing the route completely to allow for more up and down hills.

I would love to have some suggestions from you on what changes would be appreciated by the cyclists, and what routes would be appropriate, keeping in mind that the cyclists are all age 50 yrs old and up.

Any help you can give would be appreciated.  We really want to increase participation in this event, and make it more fun and challenging!  I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
