Hello,

I'm using MySql 8 but twindb doesn't support it out of the box. It's because percona xtrabackup must be version 8, not 2.4.

Is it possible to change the dependencies or any other way to make it work?

Best regard,
Alex

Hi,

twindb-backup bundles xtrabackup-2.4, which covers MySQL/Percona 5.6 + 5.7.
Some users reported similar problem, because Xtrabackup 2.4 doesn't support MariaDB https://github.com/twindb/backup/issues/148
As a workaround for now it is possible to specify an xtrabackup binary for 8.0 (--xtrabackup-binary=/usr/bin/xtrabackup).
Or you can put that in a config file /etc/twindb/twindb-backup.cfg:

[mysql]
...
xtrabackup_binary=/path/to/xtrabackup

Best,
Aleks

Wow that was easy and obvious :D Not that i could've figured that out myself.
Thank you very much indeed! It works well now.
