Hi,

I just got a DJI FC40.  It is a great out of the box introduction UAV.  I would like to meet other people that are into UAV's.  I hope someone still reads these threads.

Welcome to the hobby.  I am relatively new to FPV'ing and I've been flying both quads and planes.  I live up near Albertville over on the northwest metro area.  Not sure how active these threads are.

That's cool.  How often do you get out and fly your quads and planes?  Is there a good public place in the north metro to fly?

Hi Chad, I like FPV although I am still getting used to it. I am using a 5.8 GHz video radio and the range seems limited and is subject to interference from anything nearby like trees buildings etc. It works better in wide open areas. I will try some things to see if I can improve it.

I use APM flight controllers. Currently flying a flamewheel 450, but working on a slightly bigger homemade quad. John

I have not had much time to work on the new quad.  But yesterday I went flying with a friend at a park.  I flew the flame-wheel and a T-28.  It was a beautiful day for flying.  The flame-wheel flew pretty good, but I need to update the firmware, it is a few months old, that's really old in firmware years.

Saturday was the Sparkfun AVC in Boulder.  Looking forward to seeing videos of that.
