It requires a Korean SSN... so its difficult to get.. you either have
to be a South Korean citizen, have a citizen let you use their SSN or
pay one to let you use theirs. I used a firm in Singapore that pays
Korean citizens for SSN's specifically for setting up SC2 accounts...
so its like buying another copy of the game but a little bit extra
anywhere from 25-100$ extra depending on who has availability. It
cost me 90$ (for the game and the SSN) its a lot I know but I've
gained a lot of experience playing against Koreans. Sometimes people
will go in on accounts together. There is guy on ebay that sells
Korean accounts and has them set up for you. Not too bad that being
said when when we have an event or hang out for a small LAN i'll let
people play on my account if they want to try playing a few on the
Korean server.

I left you a message. Connect with me, I think we can pull a SC2 lan
in 4/9 for networking. This will be a good start. with the 7-8 of us
playing sc2 just about everyday, we can invite our friends for SC2
networking and we go from there. I will be on vacation next week, but
I will try to read my posting.

$5-10-15 to play sc2 for the whole day, I think it is worth it.

Let me know if anyone is interested to play, to help, to cast or just
help. I think we can do it.

I await your answer.

Sorry I missed your call Nush...

I had surgery yesterday so i'm a little groggy still so forgive me if
I dont make sense XD. I think this is a great idea. I will request
this day off from work. I think we have 3 guys interested in casting
and that would be a good amount, we just need to make sure that they
can come :) I think we should just confirm that at least 6-7 of our
group can come and then its their job to make sure they bring 3/4
friends so we have enough people. That will be a great start. I
think when we have our 6/7 people confirm we should make the official
announcement :)

Thanks so much for your help and have a great vacation!

I do have work that day but I'll put in a time off request. Hopefully I can make it and we can get the casting stuff figured out. I already have a livestream account set up and I did some testing of it last night that went well (I just streamed me laddering for an hour or so). I have support for multiple sources as well so we can have a camera or two as well as the in game feed. The good news is that my computer was able to handle it perfectly and lag free so I think we should be set for streaming the casting.

oh yeah thats the other key thing making sure Lan World is open that day.  Exelent Michael my computer handles streaming well too and I have a HD web cam too... so between our 2 computers we can have the cameras/streaming/observing down :)

Nush let me know if you confirmed with Lan World that that day is open.  If not I can call if you prefer.  Thanks for the help guys sounds like we are going to get this in action soon!

Once we make an announcement we can invite our friends.  Also I think we should try to get a few gift cards/sponsors.  Although what we really want/need the sponsors for is the larger lan/tournament coming up.  Still it would be nice to have a few prizes to give to the winners after all they are our friends :)

Take it ez guys!

I have a comp that can stream in HD as well as a pretty good mic.
Also, livestream is pretty crappy as they limit the bandwidth you can
use. Justin TV or Own3d.tv are much better streaming services. I've
set up a number of streams and can help in setting up a MN lan one.

yeah i use Justin and own3d for my 2 streams, they are much better and
don't have those annoying flash ads - with the little red X XD...
we can create a Justin.tv account for the TC Open events.

So between the 3 of us I believe we will have the casting/obs setup...
1 or 2 can cast and 1 observe and we can switch it up. If we have 3
cameras we can have one on the casters... and one on each player...
and then with the xsplit application we can put them all on screen...
or easily switch from the two.... Also we need a little banner to put
up for xsplit in between games and the regular overlay... im not sure
what the pixle size is on those but i'll check it out. So sounds like
we can get that part of it knocked down. Mike and I have been
practicing a little bit of casting together tonight Alan... and if you
want to do that with us thats a-o-k :)

If anyone has any other input or ideas let us know. Sounds like this
is going to be a great event. Remember to get 3-4 friends together
the more the merrier and the more the larger prize pool and
possibilities for sponsors.

Also during downtime after peoples matches we could have a 360/ps3/wii
setup and have a few comps running LOL or CS too keep people from
getting bored. Priority will be given to the tournament first of
course.

Also anyone think we should follow a MLG type format with a winners/
losers bracket... or a group stage for the first games. Or split it
into diamond/masters in one tournament and bronze-plat in the other?
Any thoughts? I know it may depend on how many people we have.

So a few things to think about. Its getting close to decision time so
we will me making the official announcement in a week or so. Till
then its just tying up the loose ends.

Have a good one everyone!

Sup doods,

You can add me at RealID: iamorso...@gmail.com or BNet ID: Rage.
933

This would be my first LAN and I'm pretty excited. I don't know if I'm
driving or flying yet. I'm a silver zerg, and I've only been playing
since phase 2 of the beta so I'm just going to meet other starcraft
enthusiasts . Add me for games and stuff.

Any other out of towner's want to throw down on a room or anything
like that?
