Good evening folks!

Just wanted to send along a friendly reminder about TC Maker dues.  We need you, and the community to support the space for everyone.  I know that a lot of people have been busy this summer (myself included) and TC Maker dues may be the last thing your thinking about, but we need your input, and monthly dues!

That said, we've got some really fun stuff going on in the space, we just had our first Intro to Arduino Class by Adam Wolf, and I just finished up a welding class.  Remember, if you teach a class, the class fees can be used towards your monthly membership.  Generally classes are not to hard, and can be a great way to expand your skills.  I know that teaching others can be just as fun and rewarding as doing it yourself, and often times you learn things that you might not have encountered along the way.

So if your out enjoying summer (as we Minnesotans should be), and not planing to use the space this month, please think about sending along any donation/dues that you can- even $25 can make the difference between us making rent or our space going away...  Last month I personally contributed $150 so that the space could pay rent (and I know others have done the same).  Also we have a new automatic payment setup, if your like me- and forget to send money, it will now get deducted from your account automatically every month.  Paypal Subscription link here.

This month we are having a cleanup day/BBQ on Saturday Sept 11th from 9am - 1pm.  We need all the help we can get, and input into making the space more workable again.  This will be a chance to meet fellow makers, hang out, grill some food, and hopefully get the shop better organized.  Check out the thread on the forums.

When doing something with or at the space please be respectful and excellent to others, this is everyone's space, and everyone should contribute, and feel comfortable making changes (providing we can unchange, only if necessary)!

Going forward, if you have an interest in something, please feel free to setup a night to do things- I know other spaces have regular standing nights where people do things such as C++, Computer Security, Python, Arduino, Hardware Hacking, Linux Admin, VoIP, Sewing/Crafting, Lock-picking night, etc!  If any of these things are of interest- go ahead and set a regular meeting night up, and heck we may even get people to come!  This should be goal of the Hackers Space- to share, teach, and learn from each other- and provide a space for collaboration!  You do not need to get permission to schedule things in the space- just make sure that we aren't using it for another class or event, and your good to go!

As an FYI for bringing in stuff, please do not bring any more unwanted items into the space, such as: slow/outdated computers that can't run a current Linux distro, CRT (tube) monitors, bubble jet/laser printers, things with hazardous materials in them that you don't have an immediate use for in a project.  If there is a question about it, don't bring it.  We are accumalating more stuff then we have been using, and there has been an issue with hazardous goods ending up in our landlords dumpster, which makes them very unhappy with us.

If you have any questions on paying dues, please contact Brandon, bpa...@gmail.com, he would be more then happy to answer any questions!  We would rather folks pay and keep current-ish on dues, then having to deactivate keyfobs for the space.

Thanks for your time, and happy hacking!
