It's a quiet week at the Hack Factory, on the heels of the first
Hack Factory Cabaret.
About 25 people showed up, mostly new faces, to hear presentations on topics as diverse as near-space ballooning, lockpicking, bonsai, beer brewing, and design of peripherals for antiquated PCs. We did capture video of the presentations, and we'll get it online as soon as we can.
We're also accepting submissions for the next Cabaret, on June 22. Send an e-mail to this account and we'll get in touch with you.
Make: Day is back at the SMM, and TCMaker will be there! Father's Day, Sunday, June 20, TCMaker will be showing our stuff at the Science Museum. We'll need a couple of folks to help us get our gear there and back (we're taking the giant Operation game, the Spoonapult, and the MakerBot; we'll need some hauling capacity because Operation is 4' by 8' and doesn't break down smaller). If you can help, or at least attend on the day so we have as many people staffing the booth as possible, please let us know!
Finally, this month's third Saturday electronics class will be on LEDs and laser diodes. Watch the blog for a formal announcement; the class fee will be $10 which includes two hours of instruction and Q&A and a some assorted LEDs to play with. You'll need to provide your own breadboard or Arduino, however, if you want to play around some and ask hands-on questions.
Just a reminder that it's the dues-paying time of the month again- if you haven't paid your dues for June yet, please do so.
See you at the Hack Factory-
