Hello Makers!
This week's Wednesday gathering is our monthly business meeting. Two items are on the table- consumables and a small budget for swag for Make: day at the SMM. Any members who have other business to bring up are welcome to do so.
This Saturday is going to be a big day for the Hack Factory. The MakerBot is done, and Saturday afternoon one of our members, Jon Barclay, has volunteered to help people figure out how to use it and give a short, informal class on operation.
It will also be the first monthly third Saturday electronics day. Bring projects, stuff to swap, and whatever else you want. We'll have a real live electrical engineer on hand to answer ANY* question you have about electronics or electricity, and then in the evening, the first Hack Factory soldering class will be up. Please sign up in advance at the EventBrite page for the soldering class. Included in the class is instruction and some components and circuit boards to mess around with.
Saturday will also be another welding class day. All the slots for that class are full but you can still get on the EventBrite waiting list.
Finally, we'll be trying a new event on the 20th of May- Five Minutes of Fame. Similar to Ignite, presenters will be given five minutes to present on a topic of their choosing. For more information, check out this blog post.
