Our Treasurer tells me that we've had a fairly high number of people who have not, as yet, paid their dues for the month of May.
This is a problem- if we don't get enough people paying their dues, we won't make rent for June. Because we consider payment due on the first of the month and very few people actually pay by the first of the month, the dues you pay this month are rent for the next. Right now, not enough people paid dues in May for us to write a check for June's rent.
If you're a member, please pay your dues- it's easy to do over PayPal, in person on a Wednesday, or via the drop boxes at the Hack Factory (if you pay into a drop box, please use a check and e-mail the twincitiesmaker at gmail account and let us know that you paid that way). If you're a member who isn't going to pay dues anymore, please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
If you're considering going on hiatus for the summer months because you'll be too busy to spend much time at the Hack Factory, you should be aware that, if we lose too many members, there won't be a Hack Factory to come back to in fall. There's no sugar daddy keeping this group afloat, no "dot-com-boom" millionaire writing us a big fat check each month. We depend on the dues we collect to keep the doors open.
