Does pyTwerp update .twerp.cfg if there's a 50* error?

I've noticed that I'm missing tweets in my stream. Say user fred posts
4 times in a row, I might only get one of those, or might get the
first and fourth.

I run pyTwerp from cron every 10 minutes. I occasionally get 503
errors from cron. Could Twerp think it got the stream and it didn't
but it updates the date stamp aanyway?

What can I do to try to troubleshoot the problem?

I tend to see 503s concurrently with FailWhales.

Look at the timestamps of [checked] in .twerprc ?

that can't help.

cron runs every 10 minutes.

By the time I realize that I've missed tweets in my stream, pytwerp
has updated the _friends timestamp in .twerprc an unknown number of
times.

I'm trying to understand how pytwerp is missing tweets.

If you're seeing the "HTTP Error:" message, then no. saveConfig should only be called
on a 200 or 304.

Try checking the exit status in cron (1 = nothing new, 3 = error in transfer).
