Sponsored by the Sylvan Laureate Foundation, the YouthActionNet® Global Fellowship offers young leaders from around the world the chance to build skills, network, gain recognition, and advocate for their causes. Past awardees have founded cutting-edge initiatives - from a project in Mexico that transforms discarded milk and juice boxes into low-income housing to a social enterprise in Rwanda that markets the work of African artisans around the globe. The Fellowship is open to all young people, ages 18 to 29. Applicants must be proficient in English and have founded or co-founded projects or organizations with at least one year of demonstrated social impact. This can include leading a new project within an existing organization. Winners will be announced in October 2012.
The yearlong Fellowship includes:
- A seven-day retreat designed to strengthen personal and organizational leadership skills
- Recognition of the Fellows at the annual YouthActionNet® Global Fellowship Awards Ceremony
- A robust package of yearlong support, including access to virtual learning sessions, personalized coaching, global advocacy platforms, and grant opportunities
- Membership in the YouthActionNet® global network comprising more than 600 young social innovators working in 64 countries
- Opportunities to network and collaborate with other IYF projects and over 200 partners
- Access to global advocacy platforms and media coverage
