"1:1 In a beginning Elohim created the visible universe and the earth.
And the earth became formless, and waste; and darkness was upon the
surface of the sea. And the Spirit of Elohim hovered upon the surface of
the waters. And Elohim spoke, saying, Let light exist: and there was
light. And Elohim looked at the light and saw that it was good; and
Elohim separated the light from the darkness. Elohim proclaimed the
light Day, and the darkness Night. And the nightfall and the daybreak
were the first day. Elohim spoke, saying, Let there be a solid surface
among the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters. And
Elohim fashioned the atmosphere, and separated the waters beneath from
the waters above; and it was so. Elohim called the atmosphere Sky. And
the nightfall and daybreak were the second day. Elohim spoke, saying,
Let the waters under the atmosphere be collected together towards each
locality, and let the dry land become visible; and it was so. And Elohim
proclaimed the dry land Earth, and the collecting together of the waters
he called Seas; and Elohim inspected and it was valuable in estimation.
Elohim spoke, saying, Let the earth grow green grass, the green plant
producing seed, and the fruit tree producing fruit after its species,
according to its kind; and it was firmly done. The earth grew green
grass, and green plant producing seed after its species, and the tree
producing fruit, after its seed-kind; and Elohim inspected and it was
valuable in estimation. And the nightfall and the daybreak were the
third day. Elohim spoke, saying, Let there be lights in the expanse of
the cosmos to separate the day from the night; and let them be for
signs, sacred seasons, days, and years. And let them be for lights in
the cosmos of the sky to shine light upon the earth; and it was firmly
done. And Elohim made two intense lights: the larger sunlight to rule
the day, and the lesser moonlight to rule the night; the stars He made
too. Then Elohim employed them in the cosmos of heaven to shine light
upon the earth, and to have dominion over the day and night, to separate
the light from the darkness; and Elohim saw that it was excellent. And
the sunset and the sunrise were the fourth day. Elohim spoke, saying,
Let the waters bring forth abundantly the swarming things that have
life, and flying creatures, that fly above the surface under the canopy
[of water] in the skies. Elohim created great serpents, and every living
creature that creeps and moves, which the waters teemed forth
abundantly, after their species, and every winged flying creature after
its species; and Elohim inspected and it was valuable in estimation. And
Elohim blessed them, saying, Branch off, multiply, and fill the waters
of the seas, and let flying creatures increase on earth. And the sunset
and the sunrise were the fifth day."
