What is the different with toward and towards?

Happy new year!I could not figure out the different
with the preposition.May you be so kind to tell me upon
how to use them.By the way,if you can make some examples
to help me understanding,will be a good idea.

I think there's no difference between toward and towards; the choice of
using either of them is just a matter of preferences ( American
and British English come into play again! )

Aren't they kind of the same things?? You can use either one of them.
