is it really? ... yeah Los Angeles is spanish but
la califusa isn't

"La Califusa" is not real Spanish, but is suppoed to look like Spanish. It
means:

LA-CALIF-USA

LA = Los Angeles
Calif = California
USA = USA

Los Angeles, California, USA

In other words, it means "Los Angeles".

hum... SYSOP, a spoken language is a living thing, words are
created everywhere this language is used as we speak, some new words
will one day make it into the dictionary, some will never do. examples
like snafu, wysiwyg are combinations of words now can be found in dictionary,
maybe one day double negative will be allowed. La califusa is a collection
of words, a rather cute way to express an address.. away from all those
Internet/IRC inspired shorthands that are boring and easy to figure out
"La califusa" is one of the new words that with a touch of ingenuity, and
something that makes you smile after you figure out what it is.

Well, after you guys' explaining, I now know what it means and I guess
Americans are just SO ingenius in creating these words that are merely
to characterize American cities instead of containing any global sense
of knowledge, except to Americans. I know it's fun and cute to use these
words on the Internet/IRC but please, keep them out of the real world so
people can have more space in their brains to ponder something that's more
authentic and genuine. And sure enough people have preference in choosing
words they like to use but personally I still prefer "LA, Calif. USA"
format as it's a more standard and probably easier way for me to grasp
its real meaning. Again, it's just personal so don't bite me. :)

knowledge"

"Global sense of knowledge" defines as intrinsic knowledge to the use of
terms that is globally understood without further explanation, i.e. abbrev.
of names of countries, UK, NZ, USA, TW but certainly not "la califusa".
