到底稀飯的英文是啥呀??

rice gruel
rice porridge
rice soup

Oh, there's quite a few terms we have here in SF Chinatown...

Congee
Rice Porridge
Jook

Probably rice porridge is the most "obvious" one.

Aren't 粥 and 稀飯 different? I love the former, but can't stand the latter.

Oh, another term for 稀飯 is "xifan".

As far as I know, they're just different ways of saying the same thing.

According to 教育部國語辭典
粥
解釋 ：[名]稀飯。如：小米粥、廣東粥、牛肉粥。

Perhaps it's just the way it's prepared. I find 廣東粥 to be very tasty, but
Taiwan 稀飯 to be unpalatable.

廣東粥 is 粥, but 粥 isn't necessarily 廣東粥 :)

台灣有些地方會煮一種湯湯的飯，稱它為「飯湯」，rice soup?
湯裡的飯是呈粒狀，不是粥糊，像 Ochazuke茶泡飯裡的飯一樣。
