十一月七日，中國通過CNNIC正式註冊"中文.CN"中文域名，此乃在中、港、台、澳
四個華人地區正式的、統一的中文域名註冊。廈寶電貿網絡有限公司(Sharp

中文域名支持簡繁體的完全互通解析是CNNIC域名服務的一個特點。例如,一個大陸
用戶想訪問台灣的"台灣.com.tw"，他只需鍵入大陸用戶熟悉的簡體漢字就可以了。而
台灣用戶如想訪問大陸的"清華大學"網站,他也同樣只需鍵入繁體的"清華大學"就可以
了。

"中文.cn"格式的中文域名是由CNNIC來管理，現時只允許獨立法人(如:公司)注冊
。中文域名適用于各種操作系統，如WINDOWS-NT、UNIX、LINUX等。

另外，由ICANN及美國NSI推行的中文.COM/NET/ORG美式中文域名預註服務，在國內
數家大型的國際頂級域名服務商的吹谷之下，現正如火如荼之中。廈寶電貿網絡有限公

美式中文域名是可以允許個人及公司團體進行註冊，但因美式中文域名的繁體中文

◆◇On U.S. Election day, China will start registering Chinese domain
names◇◆

On 7 November, China will officially launch "Chinese Name.cn" domain name
registration through its IT agency, CNNIC . This will be the sole and
central registry for China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Sharp International and Xinnet, the largest IT company in China, is
cooperating to accept pre-registration on first-come-first-serve basis.
Registration results will be known coming Wednesday.

In the "Chinese Name.cn" registration both simplified characters and
traditional characters are compatible; and one registration will serve both.
However, only companies and organizations are allowed to register meanwhile.

Personal registration will use the ICANN/NSI registration system which
consists of two separate registries for simplified characters and
traditional characters. Therefore, for "Chinese character.com" or "Chinese
character.net", etc, one needs to register in both the simplified and
traditional Chinese characters.
