Title: Quantum simulation of lattice gauge theory with tensor networks and Rydberg arrays
Abstract: We introduce the lattice compact Abelian Higgs model, its tensor formulation and  time continuum limit. We consider a truncation that motivates the use of rectangular arrays of Rydberg atoms as analog simulators. We discuss the rich  phase diagram of the simulator which can be explored by varying the lattice spacing and the detuning. We report on cloud-based adiabatic preparation of the vacuum near a recently observed “floating” phase.
We show that an “optimally filtered” version of the mutual information for the empirical bitstrings provides good estimates for the quantum entanglement entropy without the need of a twin copy. We discuss the sources of errors and the scaling of the computational cost with the size of the system.

Title: Core-Collapse Supernovae:
Neutrinos, Flavor Conversions, and their Impact on Dynamics
Abstract: In this talk I will give an overview of delayed neutrino driven mechanism in core-collapse supernovae. I will talk about the crucial role that neutrinos play in turning the implosion to an explosion. Afterwards I will motivate why the flavor of the neutrinos is probably not conserved as they travel through the emerging port-neutron star and beyond. I will talk about my research results that show that these flavor conversions can have an effect on the dynamical evolution of the explosion. They have the potential to support or suppress the shock revival, depending on the region and the time when they occur.
