Subject: Leinweber Physics Postdoctoral Fellowships at MIT - seeking nominations
To:

Dear colleagues,

I am writing to let you know that we are hoping to make up to two offers of Leinweber Physics Postdoctoral Fellowships, to begin 1 September 2026, at the MIT Center for Theoretical Physics — a Leinweber Institute. This is a broad search within theoretical physics, seeking candidates with strong potential for scientific leadership; close alignment with faculty research programs is not a requirement. More details can be found at
https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo?joblist---101-30698 .

We are requiring a nomination from a faculty member (or equivalent senior research role) for these fellowships. I am writing to inform you about this opportunity, and to ask for your assistance in nominating strong candidates. If you know of a promising junior theorist whom you believe would be a good fit for a Leinweber Physics Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT, we would appreciate it greatly if you could spend a few minutes to nominate them for this position and encourage them to apply.

You may nominate candidates using the (very brief) form at:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/18wPbKc5Cj7lZcYEhvJRS2lszAsovqRJwpS5hssG_lAQ/edit
The deadline for nominations is 1 November 2025; the deadline for full applications is 15 November 2025. After nominating a candidate, please inform them they have been nominated and direct them to this page to submit their application:
https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo?joblist---101-30698

We also have other postdoctoral positions available which do not require a nomination, covering quantum information science / quantum computing, nuclear theory, and high energy theory (defined broadly); details may be found at:
https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/MIT/CTP-LI/

Thank you very much for your time and for any assistance you may be able to provide.

Sincerely,
Tracy Slatyer
Director of the MIT Center for Theoretical Physics — a Leinweber Institute
