Title: A Comprehensive Study of Exponential Quintessence
Abstract:
Dark energy is necessary to explain the acceleration of cosmic expansion. Recent observations of Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) by DESI suggest the existence of dynamical dark energy such as quintessence, which is described by a scalar field. In this study, we investigated a quintessence model with an exponential potential, which is motivated by string theory. We performed a dynamical analysis on this model and discussed the fine-tuning problem and constraints on the free parameter in this model. We also discussed observational predictions of primordial gravitational waves amplified by early domination of the quintessence. Finally, we derived constraints on the number of extra dimensions in the context of constructing the exponential quintessence within the framework of general relativity and curved extra dimensions.
